About the 3rd AnnualOsoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival

 

The Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival takes place from June 9 to 12, 2011. This special four-day weekend is a veritable Meritage of different food and wine pairing events featuring regional Chefs and Winemakers. It will provide participants with the unique opportunity to rub shoulders with film & television personalities while enjoying the region’s best cuisine, wine and entertainment.

Numerous Hollywood celebrities have been invited and are expected to attend in 2011. As well, several of the Vancouver 2010 medal winning athletes will be returning to enjoy the festivities and soak up the Osoyoos Sunshine.

The event is co-hosted by Jason Priestley and Chad Oakes who annually bring out some of their Hollywood friends. “It’s a great opportunity for participants to meet and mingle with celebrities. We are looking forward to bringing Hollywood to the beautiful Osoyoos region,” says Jason Priestley. “There are so many exceptional wineries in the area, and this event and the media coverage we’re creating will help bring some richly deserved exposure to the great wines of the region”.

The 2010 Festival helped set a new high watermark for what can be achieved in the South Okanagan. It was an exceptional collaboration of effort and time from 17 wineries, 4 hotels, eight Chefs or Restaurants, 3 live musical performances (Steven Page, Bruce Greenwood, Double Magnum), 2 tourism agencies (Destination Osoyoos & TOTA), 10 celebrities, 29 'Vinos' producers, 20 attending members of the media and nearly 1100 enthusiastic fans for BC wine and food.

To top it off, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT CANADA, Canada's most watched entertainment news program, was on-site in Osoyoos to capture all the fun in 2010. Osoyoos is well known as a resort destination for families, with some of the hottest beaches and warmest lakes.

Considered Canada's warmest welcome, the festival focuses to bring food & wine enthusiasts from British Columbia and Alberta to experience the rich culinary and winemaking tradition and tastes of the region in high style. And all this being done while fund raising for the United Way of the Southern Okanagan.
